Amazon has expanded its ultra-fast Amazon Now service to more than 120 cities, doubling the footprint in two weeks. New markets include Amritsar, Abohar, Jalandhar, Ambala, Mangalore, Manipal, Vizag, Kochi, Bhubaneswar and Karwar. The push lands days before the Great Indian Festival starts on 8 October, when deals will run on the same minute-delivery rails.

Amazon Now now covers over 120 cities after the latest wave of openings. The service had already hit $1 billion in annualised gross sales over a recent three-month stretch. Customers in the new towns can order and receive goods within minutes from local dark-store inventory.

Shop-floor impact shows first at the dark store till and rider bay. A kirana-style assortment of groceries, electronics accessories and daily essentials must turn faster to justify the added city P&L. Riders face denser pin-code maps with the same 10-to-30-minute promise that once sat only in metros.

Amazon Now has doubled its footprint in two weeks, bringing minute-level deliveries to customers in cities including Amritsar and Vizag.

The move squeezes Blinkit, Zepto, Instamart and Flipkart Minutes on both density and festive share. It also gives Amazon sellers a new exclusive window for high-velocity SKUs that previously sat only on standard two-day lanes.

Watch the 8 October festival open and any further city count toward 200-plus before Diwali. Filings or seller notes on contribution margins in the new towns will signal whether the double is sustainable.
