Bernstein found Blinkit averaging 94.4% in-stock across 150 SKUs in grocery, fresh and non-grocery over 10 days and multiple time slots. Flipkart Minutes followed at 88.7%, Swiggy Instamart at 83.8% and Zepto at 82.5%. Availability held steady for Blinkit while rivals saw sharper drops later in the day.

The study covered at least three PIN codes each in three metros. Blinkit maintained 94-95% through the day; Instamart fell as much as 11% by evening. Flipkart Minutes and Blinkit showed the smallest decline at 5% each.

For a dark-store picker the higher fill rate means fewer substitutions and faster pack times, cutting rider wait and complaint tickets. A kirana losing the same SKU to a 10-minute app feels the volume leak immediately.

Blinkit maintained availability of around 94-95% throughout the observation period.

The gap strengthens Blinkit’s hand on national brand listings and private-label trials while forcing Zepto and Instamart to accelerate replenishment tech or cede share. Amazon and Reliance dark-store builds face the same availability test.

Watch festive-week fill rates and any platform commentary on minimum order value or dark-store additions in the coming fortnight.
