Avenue Supermarts discontinued DMart Ready operations in seven cities during the June quarter. The online grocery service now operates in 11 cities as of 30 June 2026. Management cited focus on large metros and model improvement amid quick-commerce pressure.

The exits removed marginal contributors. Standalone revenue for the quarter rose 15.1 per cent to ₹18,343 crore while net profit climbed 12.8 per cent to ₹936 crore. EBITDA margin held at 8.3 per cent.

A dark-store picker in a metro now faces denser competition for the same 10-minute order. DMart’s remaining Ready hubs must raise drop density or lose the rider economics that pure-play qcom already optimises.

DMart Ready now operates in only 11 cities.

The pullback helps pure-play platforms in the exited towns and forces other hybrid retailers to re-examine thin-city unit economics. Kirana delivery tie-ups gain temporary breathing room.

Watch the next earnings note for any further city list or delivery-speed upgrades. Festive grocery spikes will test whether the 11-city core can grow orders without fresh capital burn.
