Lenskart Solutions shares tumbled over 5% on 12 October after reports of a block deal involving 2.93 crore shares, or 1.67% equity, valued at ₹1,895 crore at ₹647 apiece. Alpha Wave Ventures was said to be selling up to 1.6% for around ₹1,691 crore at a ₹640 floor. The stock opened at ₹650 against Friday’s ₹677.85 close and touched ₹643.75.
On 12 October, 2.93 crore Lenskart shares changed hands in block deals worth ₹1,895 crore at ₹647. Alpha Wave Ventures LP was linked to a possible 1.6% stake sale with a ₹640 floor price, a 5.2% discount to the prior close. Shares fell more than 5% intraday.
For the shop floor this means funding clarity or overhang just as the chain pushes optical stores and app orders. A franchise optician in a tier-2 mall now faces questions from landlords on expansion pace while the stock digests the exit.
As many as 2.93 crore shares of Lenskart Solutions, representing 1.67% of the company’s equity, were traded through block deals.
The deal helps early investors book gains after strong 2026 returns but squeezes late entrants and puts peer eyewear plays like Titan Eye+ on watch for similar secondary sales. It also signals liquidity in consumer tech listings.
Next watch is disclosure of buyers in exchange filings this week and any comment on store pipeline before the festive optical rush.
