Lenskart reported first-quarter revenue of ₹2,714 crore, up 43 per cent, while net profit surged 270 per cent to ₹222 crore. Founder Peyush Bansal told the Jefferies India Forum the priority remains vision correction at scale for 700-800 million underserved Indians. Jefferies kept a ₹680 target on the stock.
Revenue rose 43 per cent year-on-year to ₹2,714 crore in the quarter and profit multiplied to ₹222 crore from ₹60 crore. Management reiterated plans to open thousands of additional domestic outlets to close India’s optical retail gap. Pricing spans entry frames near five dollars to premium five-hundred-dollar pairs.
A dark-store or high-street till that once sold only ready readers now competes with Lenskart’s full prescription range and home try-on. Opticians in smaller towns face footfall shifts when a new Lenskart cluster opens and offers insurance-linked or EMI options that local shops cannot match.
Lenskart’s primary market opportunity extends to an estimated 700-800 million individuals who require corrective lenses.
The push helps organised optical share grow at the expense of unorganised players while giving quick-commerce and marketplace partners another high-margin category. It also raises the bar for Titan Eye+ and other chains on store density and private-label frames.
Next catalyst sits with any insurance-backed vision coverage rollout and the pace of new store openings through the festive and wedding season filings.
