Lenskart Solutions recorded a block deal of 2.95 crore shares worth ₹1,857 crore on 28 August at ₹630 apiece, a 1.65 percent discount to the prior close of ₹640.60. Alpha Wave Ventures II LP is the likely seller of the bulk, exceeding earlier indications of a 1.2 percent stake. The transaction is pure secondary.
Around 2.95 crore shares of the eyewear retailer changed hands on Friday for ₹1,857 crore. The price of ₹630 marked a clear discount to Thursday’s close. Alpha Wave, which held roughly 1.22 percent at end-June, appears to have pared its position; SoftBank had sold a larger chunk days earlier.
Shop-floor teams at Lenskart’s optical stores and franchise counters will watch footfall and average ticket more closely. A large secondary sale can cool sentiment among trade partners who stock frames and lenses on credit cycles tied to listed-parent confidence.
The 2.95 crore shares that changed hands exceeded the 2.08 crore earlier indicated.
The deal squeezes remaining early investors looking for exits at premium valuations while giving new institutional buyers a cleaner entry. It leaves Nykaa and other listed lifestyle peers under the same scrutiny for any follow-on stake sales.
Watch the 45-day lock-up expiry and the next quarterly filing for any further promoter or PE movement before the festive optical rush.
