Meesho reported a net loss of ₹132.4 crore for the September quarter, down from ₹411.3 crore a year earlier, while revenue from operations rose 34.4% to ₹4,131.58 crore. Shares gained after the print as brokerages flagged improved engagement and merchandise value.
The marketplace saw rising user engagement and stronger contribution margins even while spending stayed elevated for the festive build-up. First-day orders in its Mega Blockbuster Sale jumped about 75% year-on-year with transacting customers up around 60%.
For the reseller or home-based seller the lower burn means more stable payout cycles and continued free-shipping support. Higher average order values from Tier-2 and beyond reduce the per-order logistics hit that once dominated the P&L.
Meesho reported a narrowing of loss to ₹132.4 crore, compared with a loss of ₹411.3 crore a year ago.
The print helps pure horizontal platforms defending value shoppers against quick-commerce grocery raids and pressures vertical specialists still burning on brand advertising. It also eases pressure on payment partners handling higher ticket COD volumes.
Watch the full festive GMV close in mid-November and any update on contribution margin trajectory in the next earnings call for signs the loss can turn to profit by FY28.
