Nykaa Fashion on 1 October expanded its Hidden Gems programme with a six-month zero-commission model for selected apparel and lifestyle brands. The accelerator targets high-potential Indian wear, western wear, jewellery, bags and footwear labels. Participants also get preferential visibility, marketing support, mentorship and fast-track onboarding ahead of the festive season.

Nykaa Fashion is waving the commission stick to pull niche brands onto its clothing vertical. Zero fees for half a year let early-stage labels redirect cash to stock and customer acquisition rather than marketplace cuts. Flipkart has already moved to zero commission across all fashion price points.

For a small designer or D2C seller the till impact is direct: every rupee saved on commission can buy more festive inventory or Instagram ads that convert. Dark-store and marketplace algorithms still decide visibility, but the first six months remove one fixed cost.

Zero commission for six months lets brands fund stock and ads instead of platform fees.

The offer helps independent brands scale while pressuring pure-play marketplaces that still charge full take-rates. It also gives Nykaa denser assortment without heavy inventory risk. Larger apparel sellers already on Flipkart gain a comparative benchmark.

Track how many brands onboard before Diwali and whether conversion data appears in the next quarterly update. Festive GMV share for Hidden Gems will show if the waiver pays off.
