Reliance Consumer Products Limited on 1 September 2026 entered the ice-cream category with Bombay Creamery. The range of cones, cups, tubs, bars and sticks starts at ₹10 and uses real dairy cream. Initial availability is in western India before a nationwide rollout backed by RCPL’s distribution and retail network.

RCPL positioned Bombay Creamery around genuine dairy ingredients and the ‘Global Quality at Affordable Price’ promise. Director T Krishnakumar said the firm is committing long-term to the category rather than a short entry. Formats cover the full impulse and take-home spectrum at the ₹10 starting point.

Kirana freezers and modern trade cold cabinets will feel the immediate assortment push. A ₹10 real-cream stick or cone forces existing players to defend share on price and claim authenticity at the same time. Dark-store and quick-commerce listings will follow the physical rollout, tightening slot competition.

Dairy shouldn’t need shortcuts; prices start at ₹10 with real cream.

Amul, Kwality Walls, Mother Dairy, Vadilal and regional brands face a well-capitalised rival with national reach and existing Campa-style distribution muscle. Private-label ice cream programmes at large grocers may accelerate to protect margins.

Watch the western India sell-through numbers over the next four weeks and the festive window for the pan-India push. Any filing or capacity update on dairy sourcing will signal how fast the national scale-up can run.
