Uniqlo India will keep expanding only in the six cities where it already operates—Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Lucknow and Pune—marketing director Nidhi Rastogi told Business Standard on 25 August. The chain has 20 stores of 10,000–35,000 sq ft and reported FY25 revenue of ₹1,175.5 crore, up 44%. Online contributes 15%.
Uniqlo India is focusing further store growth on its existing six cities rather than rushing into new ones. It currently runs 20 outlets and saw revenue rise 44% to ₹1,175.5 crore in FY25, with online sales at 15% of the mix.

We are very bullish on India and are committed to expanding in India.
The disciplined approach squeezes pure-play D2C apparel players chasing the same urban wardrobe share and helps mall landlords with reliable large-format tenants. It also leaves tier-2 fashion demand to value players like Zudio for now.
Watch new store openings in Pune and Bengaluru through the festive window and any update on local sourcing targets in the next quarter.
