Zepto Cafe has reduced its footprint to an estimated 250-350 locations from a peak of 850-900 as the quick-commerce firm concentrates on select high-performing markets, according to a 21 September 2026 report. The cut follows rapid expansion and menu rationalisation.

Zepto has pruned its Cafe outlets sharply, retaining only the stronger city clusters. The remaining sites run a shorter menu to improve kitchen turns and cut wastage. Peak network size had reached nearly 900 points.

A dark-store rider now picks fewer SKUs per Cafe order, shaving two minutes off average delivery. Kitchen staff face lower prep complexity but higher peak-hour pressure on the surviving high-volume sites.

Zepto Cafe's footprint has fallen to an estimated 250-350 locations from a peak of 850-900.

The retreat eases pressure on commercial rents in secondary catchments while handing share back to pure grocery dark stores of Blinkit and Instamart. Suppliers of short-shelf-life items lose volume.

Monitor the next quarterly update for same-store sales on the retained Cafe base and any further menu cuts before the wedding season.
