Amazon said products ordered during the opening of its Great Indian Festival 2026 more than doubled year-on-year, its biggest opening ever. The sale opened to all customers at midnight on 8 October 2026. Premium Android smartphone sales grew 70 percent year-on-year.

MacBook Neo sales ran 65 times a regular day. Premium wearables sold at 80 times usual pace, led by Garmin, Apple, Samsung and Amazfit. Home entertainment jumped sharply with larger TVs dominating.

Shoppers used festive discounts, exchange offers and financing to upgrade. First-time shoppers nearly doubled while more than 70 percent of visits came from beyond the top nine metros. Till systems and dark stores must handle higher average order values without stockouts.

Products ordered more than doubled year-on-year on the opening day.

This helps premium brands and financing partners but squeezes value-only sellers on the same platform. Quick-commerce arms gain from the same premium shift.

Watch mid-October numbers and any guidance on overall festive GMV as the sale runs through the main festive period.
