Blinkit reported adjusted EBITDA of ₹184 crore on 398.9 million orders in the September 2026 quarter, while Swiggy's Instamart posted a ₹895 crore loss on 130.3 million orders, according to shareholder letters reviewed on 23 October. Blinkit's net order value reached ₹20,940 crore, more than three times Instamart's ₹6,594 crore.

Blinkit delivered ₹184 crore adjusted EBITDA profit and about ₹5 per order in the July-September quarter, against Instamart's ₹895 crore loss and roughly ₹69 loss per order. Blinkit ran 2,751 dark stores versus Instamart's 1,240 and added 308 net stores against 69.

A dark-store picker or rider now sees clear scale advantage: higher orders per store (about 1,700 daily at Blinkit) spread fixed costs and lift contribution to ₹28 per order. Instamart needs ₹30 contribution and 2.3 times current size to break even, per Swiggy guidance.

Blinkit earns about ₹5 per order while Instamart loses about ₹69 on each.

The gap pressures Swiggy's overall path to profitability and helps Blinkit fund further city expansion into smaller towns. Grocery kiranas and traditional modern trade lose more high-frequency baskets to the faster, denser network.

Watch Blinkit's March 2027 store target of 3,500 and Instamart's next quarter contribution metrics; festive order spikes will test whether the loss gap narrows or widens.
