Zepto and Swiggy removed 10-minute delivery branding on 19 October after Union Labour Ministry talks, with Blinkit scrubbing the claim a day earlier. The platforms now push broader doorstep promises amid nationwide gig strikes on peak festive days.

Eternal’s Blinkit changed its tagline from “10,000+ products in 10 minutes” to a generic doorstep line. Zepto and Instamart followed after the closed-door meeting with minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

Riders and dark-store pickers lose the extreme time pressure that drove earlier complaints. A Gurugram dark store can now batch orders without the old stopwatch hanging over every pick.

No more 10-mins delivery after government intervention forces model reset.

The reset helps platforms facing licence suspensions in Maharashtra and FSSAI heat while squeezing pure speed-led marketing. It levels the field for Amazon and Flipkart Minutes still building networks.

Watch Diwali order volumes and any fresh labour notifications before year-end for whether the softer promise sticks or discounts return.
