Flipkart will create more than 2.5 lakh direct and indirect jobs, including gig roles, for the festive season, up 30,000 from last year. Nearly 75,000 go to first-time workers and 60% sit in last-mile delivery. The company is adding over 900 festive hubs to feed Big Billion Days starting 9 October.

Flipkart said Tuesday it is opening more than 900 new festive delivery hubs and nearly 1.4 lakh additional last-mile positions across 7,000 Ekart facilities. About 30% of the total openings target first-time entrants, with focus on Tier-2 and Tier-3 demand plus Flipkart Minutes quick commerce.

Riders and sortation staff will feel the scale first. A dark-store manager in Noida or a kirana partner feeding the network now faces tighter competition for reliable delivery hands just as volumes spike.

Focus is on greater speed of delivery nationwide with 900 new hubs.

Amazon and Meesho will watch rider availability and hub rents climb. Smaller regional logistics firms lose pricing power while Blinkit and Zepto already run dense networks.

Watch the 9 October Big Billion Days launch and any mid-season hub utilisation numbers Flipkart files or leaks.
