Flipkart on 11 September launched Fashion Spotlight to accelerate digital-first fashion brands, especially from tier-2-plus regions, with more than 100 brands already live and a target of 500 by year-end. The programme offers video cataloguing, live commerce and virtual try-ons for higher conversion.

Spotlight onboards early-stage labels that have local traction but need scale, focusing on unique style, value and regional relevance. Brands such as Rare Rabbit and others have already posted multi-fold growth on the platform.

D2C founders gain discoverability without heavy ad spends while Flipkart fills fashion assortment gaps. A small-town designer listing via Spotlight can reach first-time fashion buyers who make one in three Flipkart fashion purchases as their debut.

Flipkart aims to scale Fashion Spotlight to 500 brands by year-end.

The push helps Flipkart defend against pure D2C apps and Amazon while squeezing independent marketplaces that lack live tools. It also raises the bar for packaging and content quality among sellers.

Watch the year-end 500-brand count and festive conversion rates for proof that the tools lift average order values.
