Flipkart recorded 6.3 million concurrent users in a single minute during the opening hour of its 13th Big Billion Days sale. Early Access on 8 October generated over 287 million sessions for Plus and card holders. The full sale opened to all shoppers on 9 October, with nearly half of first-hour visits from Tier-3 towns and beyond.

Non-metro customers accounted for about 60% of demand. Categories spanned mobiles, electronics, large appliances, beauty, lifestyle and home. New customers grew 34% in the opening window.

For a seller the spike means warehouse slots and ad bids tighten overnight; a delayed dispatch loses the algorithm boost. Riders and dark-store pickers see the first surge of festive volume before Diwali peaks.

Nearly one in two visits in the opening hour came from Tier 3 towns and beyond.

The numbers put immediate pressure on Amazon’s counter-sale and on Blinkit-Zepto-Instamart for overlapping grocery and electronics baskets. Meesho’s value traffic also faces diversion.

Watch the full festive GMV print and any category-wise share data Flipkart releases after the main sale window closes.
