Reliance Retail closed all remaining 31 7-Eleven outlets in Mumbai and Pune on 30 September 2026, ending the master franchise after the chain posted a nearly ₹90 crore net loss in FY26, Seven & i Holdings confirmed on 22 October. The network had peaked near 60 stores since the 2021 launch.

Seven & i Holdings stated that its master franchisee Reliance Retail shut the final 31 7-Eleven stores as of 30 September. The Japanese parent reported the FY26 loss near ₹90 crore and signalled it may explore other routes to serve Indian customers later.

For the shop-floor team the exit frees high-street or mall space that can be converted to JioMart or other Reliance formats with higher throughput. Convenience shoppers lose the late-night 7-Eleven assortment and shift to nearby kiranas or quick-commerce dark stores.

All 31 remaining 7-Eleven stores closed on 30 September after a ₹90 crore FY26 loss.

The closure removes one global convenience brand from the market and eases pressure on local players such as local petrol-pump marts and YatriKart-style transit stores. It also underscores the difficulty of transplanting overseas convenience models into India's price-sensitive catchments.

Watch whether Seven & i announces a new partner or D2C route before the next fiscal and how Reliance redeploys the vacated sites in its Q3 store-count update.
