Value format now dominates the network; merchants watch whether ticket sizes hold as competition thickens in tier-2.

Trent Ltd reported standalone revenue of ₹5,788 crore for the September quarter, up 23 per cent year-on-year from ₹4,724 crore. Zudio opened its 1,000th store by 30 September 2026. The company added a net 10 Westside and 17 Zudio outlets in the quarter, taking the total lifestyle store count to 1,342.
Trent’s Q2 update showed the value engine still leading expansion. H1 revenue rose 21 per cent. Store additions stayed disciplined even as the network crossed four figures for Zudio alone.
On the shop floor this means more neighbourhood racks competing for the same ₹499-₹999 basket. A Zudio till in a tier-2 high street now faces Yousta and Style Up within walking distance, forcing tighter inventory turns and fewer deep markdowns to protect contribution.
Zudio crossed 1,000 stores while Trent’s quarterly revenue climbed 23 per cent to ₹5,788 crore.
The move helps Trent’s private-label mix but squeezes pure-play value peers and smaller franchise operators who lack Tata’s sourcing scale. Westside’s slower, larger-format adds give some premium buffer.
Watch the festive window through Diwali for same-store trends and any update on the ₹2,500 crore raise earmarked for faster Westside rollout.
