Trent Ltd said its Zudio chain opened the 1,000th store during the July-September quarter, taking the total portfolio to 1,342 outlets by 30 September. Standalone revenue rose 23 per cent to ₹5,788 crore in Q2 and 21 per cent to ₹11,454 crore in H1. Net additions included 17 Zudio and 10 Westside stores in the quarter.

Zudio now operates across more than 300 cities after adding over 80 per cent of recent stores in Tier-II and Tier-III markets. Capital for a new Zudio outlet runs ₹3-4 crore including inventory. Westside plans up to 100 stores a year, a sharp step-up from the prior 10-15 pace, backed by a board-approved ₹2,500 crore raise.

On the shop floor the new Zudio till in a Tier-III high street pulls footfall that once went to local multi-brand or unorganised apparel. Higher store density risks cannibalising older outlets if same-store growth stays soft at 2-3 per cent.

Zudio opened its 1,000th store in Q2 as Trent revenue climbed 23 per cent.

The push helps Trent defend against Reliance Yousta and Aditya Birla Style Up in value fashion while giving landlords fresh lease demand. It squeezes pure-play D2C apparel brands that lack physical reach in smaller towns.

Watch Westside’s first 20 openings under the new target and any festive same-store sales update before the next quarterly filing. Inventory turns below ₹999 will decide if margins hold.
