E-commerce firms sold goods worth around ₹24,000 crore in the first two days of festive sales, according to Redseer Strategy Consultants on 11 October. Shoppers placed 8-9 crore orders across Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Ajio and others, with 60-65 million participants. Growth ran about six times business-as-usual daily GMV; quick-commerce arms saw 4-5 times normal.

Redseer estimated ₹24,000 crore GMV, close to USD 2.5 billion, in the opening two festive days with 8-9 crore orders and 60-65 million shoppers. Mobiles took the largest value share while fashion and appliances spread the spend. Quick-commerce legs of Amazon and Flipkart ran 4-5 times daily average GMV.

A dark-store picker in Gurugram now moves festive fashion and phone accessories at peak velocity, cutting the usual wait and lifting basket size on the app. Riders face denser drops but higher order density per shift.

The first two days saw over USD 2.5 billion in GMV, and around 60-65 million shoppers have already participated.

The surge helps marketplace sellers in tier-2 fashion and squeezes pure offline festive counters that cannot match the discount depth or speed. Meesho’s value play gains alongside the big two.
