India’s leading e-commerce platforms generated an estimated ₹24,000 crore in sales over the first two days of the festive season, according to a Redseer report dated 11 October 2026. Roughly 8-9 crore orders were placed by 6-6.5 crore shoppers. Smartphones contributed 38-40% of GMV, or about ₹9,100-9,600 crore, while electronics and fashion followed.

The opening GMV was nearly six times the normal daily run rate. Amazon reported orders doubling year-on-year while Flipkart saw 6.3 million concurrent users in the first hour of Big Billion Days.

For a marketplace seller this means heavier inventory pulls on premium Android phones and large TVs that moved at 50-77 times normal daily rates. A dark-store picker now prioritises high-ASP electronics over low-margin grocery during the same window.

Smartphones alone delivered an estimated ₹9,100-9,600 crore in the opening two days.

The surge helps pure-play D2C brands listed on these platforms but squeezes offline electronics chains that cannot match the exchange-plus-EMI bundles. Tier-2 and rural first-time shoppers added noticeable volume.

Next checkpoint is the full festive period close and any category-wise GMV split that platforms may share after Diwali.
