Flipkart’s Big Billion Days 2026 closed with orders, units and buyers each up roughly 20-22 per cent year-on-year. Nearly nine in ten of India’s online shoppers visited the platform; about 60 per cent of demand came from Tier-2 and smaller cities, and nearly half the buyers were Gen Z.

The 11-day event opened to 6.3 million concurrent users in the first hour and drew strong first-time and non-metro participation. Beauty, grooming and general merchandise buyers rose 40 per cent.

For dark stores and marketplace sellers this translated into heavier peak loads on fashion and beauty pick-faces. Kirana and local apparel shops in smaller towns saw delayed festive restocking as households shifted baskets online for deeper discounts.

Non-metro and first-time buyers drove the bulk of Flipkart’s 20-22 per cent order growth.

Amazon and Meesho also posted strong opening days, with Meesho orders up about 75 per cent on day one. Quick-commerce platforms recorded more muted festive spikes, keeping their growth tied to daily essentials rather than big-ticket festive drops.

Next checkpoint is the remainder of the festive window to 15 November and any category-level GMV split in upcoming platform updates.
