Flipkart’s daily active users reached a new high on the opening day of Big Billion Days, drawing 6.3 million concurrent users in the first hour while new customers grew 34%. Redseer estimated ₹24,000 crore GMV across platforms in the first two festive days, with 60-65 million shoppers.

Non-metros contributed about 60% of Flipkart demand. Amazon reported first-time shoppers nearly doubled and more than 72% of visits from outside the top nine cities. Meesho orders rose 75% on day one. The festive window runs through mid-November.

For the marketplace seller the spike means higher inventory turns on value apparel and electronics but tighter warehouse labour and reverse-logistics costs. Dark-store and pin-code density decide who captures the last-minute diya and dry-fruit orders.

Non-metros accounted for about 60 per cent of its demand.

The surge helps logistics and payment rails while squeezing pure offline value retailers that cannot match the depth of assortment or the 10-minute delivery promise on essentials. Quick-commerce platforms saw only modest DAU lifts, confirming their everyday rather than pure festive role.

Track the full 11-day Flipkart numbers and the second leg of sales after Diwali for any slowdown in average selling price or rise in returns once the initial rush fades.
