Flipkart recorded 6.3 million concurrent users in a minute during the opening hour of its 13th Big Billion Days sale on 9 October 2026. Early access from midnight on 8 October for Plus and Black members generated over 287 million sessions. New customers grew 34 percent while traffic ran more than six times a regular hour.

Nearly one in two visits in the first hour came from Tier-III towns and beyond. Non-metro customers drove about 60 percent of demand across mobiles, electronics, large appliances, beauty and home.

Large appliance sales rose 30 percent year-on-year in the opening hour. Tablets grew 73 percent and beauty 42 percent, led by men’s grooming. At peak the platform sold over 1,600 men’s perfume units a minute. Dark-store pickers and last-mile riders face denser orders from smaller towns.

Non-metro customers accounted for about 60 percent of demand in the opening hour.

This squeezes pure-play quick-commerce players on grocery and beauty while helping marketplace sellers with higher ticket sizes. Kirana-linked suppliers gain from the non-metro pull.

Watch the full festive window through Diwali for sustained premium mix and Flipkart Minutes volume, which already rose sharply in the first hour.
