Trent Ltd plans to open as many as 100 Westside stores annually, a sharp step-up from the earlier 10-15 pace, backed by a board-approved ₹2,500 crore capital raise. The mid-to-premium chain currently runs roughly 300 outlets across 97 cities and targets deeper metro penetration plus Tier-II and Northeast markets. Zudio remains the volume engine but faces denser competition.

Westside stores average around 20,000 sq ft with 100 per cent private labels across fashion, beauty, footwear and home. The raise funds warehouses, AI design workflows that already produce 400-500 styles weekly, and faster lead times of about 30 days.

Shop-floor impact shows in higher basket values and lower markdown risk versus pure value formats. A mall till in Bengaluru or Hyderabad will see more coordinated private-label drops and club memberships driving repeat traffic, while franchise or lease costs rise with larger footprints.

Westside will move from 10-15 stores a year to as many as 100.

Reliance’s Yousta and Aditya Birla’s Style Up press Zudio in Tier-II and III. Westside’s move helps Trent diversify margins and reduces over-reliance on sub-₹999 apparel turns.

Track first 20-30 openings and digital share rising toward 10 per cent of revenue. Next festive window and any FY27 store-count filing will confirm execution speed.
