Tata-owned Trent posted consolidated net profit of ₹468 crore for the September quarter, up 25% year-on-year, on revenue from operations of ₹5,873 crore that rose 22%. Zudio store count expanded 23.9% to 999 outlets. The company opened 19 Zudio and 10 Westside stores in the period while Noel Tata prepares to step down as chairman on 11 November.

Profit climbed 25% to ₹468 crore and revenue 22% to ₹5,873 crore. Same-store sales improved and margins strengthened despite elevated inflation and supply-chain costs. Star grocery revenues grew 21.8% to ₹1,006 crore with own brands at 74% of sales across 87 stores.

Value shoppers at a Zudio till now find denser assortments in more cities, lifting basket sizes as the chain consolidates two outlets while adding fresh ones. Floor staff handle higher footfall without matching rent spikes in many locations.

Zudio’s store network expanded 23.9 per cent to 999 outlets from 806 a year earlier.

The expansion helps Trent pull share from mid-tier apparel rivals and pressures pure discounters on private-label depth. Leadership transition to Bahram Vakil as chairman from 12 November adds governance watch.

Track the Diwali-to-Christmas window and full-year store addition pace in the next quarterly filing for sustained like-for-like growth.
