Trent Ltd reported 16 per cent revenue growth to ₹15,046 crore in the nine months of FY26, driven largely by its Zudio value-fashion format that holds prices under ₹999 and refreshes stock weekly. The same period saw V-Mart also post 16 per cent growth as mass fashion took share. Data appeared in an 31 August 2026 sector round-up.

Zudio’s model keeps average selling prices low and turns inventory fast enough to match weekly fashion cycles in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Trent’s overall store count has climbed past 1,300 locations with fresh city entries earlier in the year.

On the shop floor a Zudio till rings more transactions per hour than a full-price Westside counter. Kirana-adjacent locations and high-street boxes convert walk-ins who refuse to stretch for premium labels during inflationary months.

Zudio’s sub-₹999 weekly refresh is rewriting mass-fashion maths.

Reliance Retail and Shoppers Stop feel the squeeze on the volume end while they push curated premium assortments to protect margins. Aditya Birla Lifestyle and other mid-tier players must either match the sub-999 cadence or cede the youth basket.

Watch festive footfall numbers and any fresh Zudio store-open guidance in the next quarterly filing. Navratri and Diwali windows will test whether the value engine still outruns premiumisation.
