17 Zudio and 10 Westside doors added; value fashion race tightens for tier-2 shoppers and mall landlords.

Tata Group’s Trent reported standalone Q2 revenue of ₹5,788 crore, up 23% year-on-year, as Zudio crossed 1,000 stores by end-September. Net additions were 17 Zudio and 10 Westside outlets in the quarter, taking the total portfolio to 1,342 stores across formats. H1 revenue rose 21% to ₹11,454 crore.
Trent’s Q2 update showed merchandise sales also up 23%. Zudio hit the milestone during the quarter after adding 36 stores in the first half. Westside contributed 11 net doors in H1. The network now spans more than 300 cities.
Shop-floor impact is immediate for value apparel. A Zudio till in a tier-2 mall moves higher volumes on frequent refreshes and sub-₹999 tickets, forcing nearby kirana-adjacent fashion sellers to match price or lose footfall. Landlords gain from the box count but face rent pressure if same-store growth slows.
Zudio crossed 1,000 stores while Trent logged ₹5,788 crore Q2 sales, up 23%.
The pace squeezes other value players and mid-market chains chasing the same shopper. It helps Trent’s supply chain partners with steadier domestic sourcing orders. Quick-commerce apparel experiments feel the offline density.
Watch the full Q2 results filing next week and Diwali sell-through numbers. Any guidance on revenue per square foot or further tier-3 openings will set the tone for FY27 store targets.
