Trent continues to open the bulk of new Zudio stores in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, with recent data showing roughly two-thirds of additions outside metros. The format sat at 963 stores by March 2026 and keeps adding 200-250 units a year while entering dozens of new cities each quarter.
Zudio’s sub-₹999 pricing and weekly inventory turns have turned value fashion into everyday habit rather than occasional discount hunt. Trent’s overall network crossed 1,300 stores earlier this year across more than 300 cities.
A dark-store rider or kirana owner in a tier-2 town now sees shoppers skip mid-price options for Zudio basics. Sales density stays high because the assortment refreshes fast and tickets stay small.
Small cities become the new fashion hubs for affordable weekly buys.
Reliance Yousta, V-Mart and Shoppers Stop Intune chase the same band and lose share where Zudio arrives first. Global players such as Zara and H&M face slower like-for-like growth in the mid-tier.
Watch the festive build-up through October and Trent’s next city-count disclosure for signs the 5,000-store long-term target remains on track.
