Trent Ltd said on 12 September that its value-fashion brand Zudio has crossed 1,000 stores in India. The network now spans over 300 cities and has served more than 100 million customers since the 2016 launch, according to a regulatory filing. The chain remains the main engine of Trent’s store additions.
Zudio crossed the 1,000-store mark roughly ten years after launch, Trent confirmed in its filing. The brand now operates across more than 300 cities. As of 30 June 2026 Trent also ran 301 Westside stores and 29 other lifestyle outlets, with fashion footprint above 18 million sq ft. FY26 revenue stood at ₹19,701 crore.
On the shop floor the number means denser competition for every ₹299-₹999 rack. A kirana-turned-fashion multi-brand in a Tier-2 high street now faces a Zudio two doors down that refreshes stock weekly and keeps tickets low. Same-store traffic at older outlets risks dilution when a new Zudio opens nearby.
Zudio now spans over 300 cities and has served more than 100 million customers.
The sprint squeezes mid-market players and forces Reliance’s Yousta, Shoppers Stop’s Intune and Aditya Birla’s Style Up to match speed or cede share. It also helps Trent’s overall fashion mix while Star grocery stays secondary. Landlords in smaller cities gain a reliable anchor tenant.
Watch the festive window and next quarterly store-add number. Trent has previously signalled 200-250 Zudio openings a year; any slowdown in Tier-3 conversion or margin talk in the next filing will show if density is already biting.
