Trent’s Zudio brand has crossed the 1,000-store mark in India, reaching more than 300 cities roughly a decade after launch. Over 80% of recent openings landed in Tier-II, Tier-III and peripheral markets. The chain served over 100 million customers since 2016 and remains the main driver of Trent’s fashion store additions.

Zudio hit 1,000 stores by early October 2026 after adding aggressively through FY26 and into the current quarter. The March 2026 base stood at 963 domestic outlets before the final push that took it past the milestone.

For a mall or high-street landlord this means reliable footfall from price-sensitive families buying school uniforms and festive kurtas at fixed low price points. A till operator now rings up higher volumes of basic apparel rather than waiting for deep discount days.

Over 80% of new Zudio outlets opened in smaller cities and growth micro-markets.

The scale squeezes pure-play value fashion rivals and local multi-brand outlets that cannot match Zudio’s speed of new-city entry. It also helps Trent offset softer like-for-like trends reported at other formats.

Next watch is the Diwali sell-through numbers and any update on the UAE stores that already number in single digits.
