Flipkart’s daily active users reached a new high on the opening day of its Big Billion Days sale, drawing 6.3 million concurrent users in the first hour. New customers grew 34 per cent while non-metros accounted for about 60 per cent of demand, according to a Bank of America note based on Sensor Tower data covering the 9 October to 15 November festive window.

DAUs rose 40 per cent in the first six days versus September levels. Myntra MAUs stood at about 93 million, up 8 per cent year-on-year. Nykaa Fashion MAUs grew 24 per cent to 17 million; the beauty platform held roughly 20 million MAUs. Quick-commerce platforms saw little festive lift, with Blinkit DAUs up only 3 per cent and Zepto down 2 per cent.

A marketplace seller in Jaipur or Coimbatore now ships higher volumes of apparel and electronics in the opening week because small-town buyers convert on the first big discount drop. Dark-store and warehouse teams must pre-position inventory closer to these pin codes or lose the early basket.

Non-metros supplied about 60 per cent of Flipkart’s early festive demand.

Amazon and Meesho face the same non-metro surge; horizontal platforms gain share from pure D2C sites that lack the festive traffic spike. Nykaa’s own Pink Friday events still drive sharper peaks than the broader festive calendar.

Monitor the full window through 15 November for conversion rates and the next Sensor Tower or company updates on repeat purchase from the new-customer cohort.
