Trent’s Zudio brand has crossed the 1,000-store mark in India, spanning more than 300 cities and having served over 100 million customers since launch. More than 80 per cent of FY26 new outlets opened in tier-II, tier-III and peripheral markets, with the network still expanding alongside Westside.

Zudio reached the milestone roughly a decade after launch, with 208 domestic stores added in FY26 alone. Trent’s overall fashion footprint now exceeds 1,300 large-format outlets. Standalone revenue rose 19 per cent year-on-year to ₹5,666 crore in the June quarter, with Zudio the largest contributor to store growth.

A till operator in a new Surat or Indore Zudio sees weekly inventory turns on sub-₹999 apparel that keep working capital light. Franchise or company-owned formats in smaller towns convert footfall faster because private-label pricing undercuts both local multi-brand stores and slower online delivery.

Over 80 per cent of new Zudio outlets landed in tier-II and tier-III markets.

Reliance’s Yousta and Aditya Birla’s Style Up feel the density pressure in the same catchments; traditional value retailers lose share on basic fashion. Westside’s planned 100-store annual pace, backed by the ₹2,500 crore raise, shifts Trent’s mix toward higher-margin mid-premium.

Track the festive sell-through through Diwali and the next quarterly update for like-for-like growth in the newest non-metro cohort versus the 1,000-store base.

Why the store race now decides festive margins

Blinkit’s 3,500 target and Zudio’s 1,000 outlets show density beats discounting; merchants who lag on catchment coverage will bleed this season.
