Tata-owned Trent reported consolidated net profit of ₹468 crore for the quarter ended 30 September, up 25% year-on-year, on revenue of ₹5,873 crore that rose 22%. The company added 19 Zudio and 10 Westside stores in the period, taking Zudio to 999 outlets and the overall footprint past 1,342 stores across 339 cities.
Zudio crossed its 1,000th store milestone around the Q2 close, with the value format driving most of the expansion. Non-apparel categories now contribute over 21% of standalone sales. Operating EBITDA climbed 37% to ₹785 crore as margins expanded.
Shop-floor impact shows in faster inventory turns and sub-₹999 price points that pull traffic from kirana-adjacent fashion clusters in tier-2 towns. A single new Zudio can lift daily footfall enough to pressure neighbouring multi-brand tills on weekends.
Zudio’s 1,000-store mark locks value fashion deeper into smaller cities.
The sprint helps Trent but squeezes peers chasing the same mass market, from V-Mart to regional chains still rebuilding after earlier closures. Premium Westside additions of 10 stores offer some balance yet face the same cost inflation.
Watch the second-half store additions guided near FY26 levels of about 260 net and the Noel Tata chair exit effective 11 November, plus early Diwali like-to-like reads in the next filing.
